PATTERN INFORMATION
An elegant warm sweater in winter or a cozy top for a cool summer night. The Kastanje-sweater, made from the airy Friends Kid Silk, is perfect for any occasion - with either a shirt or a t-shirt underneath.
The sweater is worked from the top down in one piece, with dome shoulders and puff sleeves. The fit is comfortable in a classic design, which includes a positive ease of approx. 3 cm / 1.25” around the chest.
The edges are made using Alpaca Silk which is a thicker, shiny and less elastic yarn than the Friends Kid Silk yarn. The edges are worked on a smaller size needle, which gives the effect that the Friends Kid Silk-knit contracts, leaving the most gorgeous edges that curve slightly inwards.
To make this sweater, you’ll use the contiguous shoulder method (for the yolk) and Magic Loop (for the sleeves). These methods require experience with increases, but the pattern has a thorough and detailed description of each row for the yolk, and the magic loop method can be used if known - or you can use double ended needles instead.
Please note: This pattern is bought as a downloadable PDF. It’s not sent as a physical product.
