Can I request a specific lot number?

← Back to FAQ

The short answer is no. Because our warehouse is highly automated, we are unfortunately unable to take requests for specific dye lot numbers, nor can we guarantee that every single skein in your order will come from the exact same batch.

What happens if my skeins don't match?

Yarn dyeing is an organic process, and minor variations between lots are completely normal. Because of this, we only offer compensation or replacements in cases of extreme, highly visible color differences.

💡 Pro-Tips for Managing Dye Lots:

  • Buy Enough Up Front: We always recommend ordering 1 or 2 extra skeins at the start of your project. This maximizes the chances that your yarn will be pulled from the same box at our warehouse.

  • Alternate Your Skeins: If you notice your skeins have slightly different lot numbers, alternate rows! Knit or crochet two rows from Skein A, then two rows from Skein B. This blends the shades and prevents any noticeable contrast in your finished piece.
