Behind the curtain of this year’s mystery CAL lies an enchanting story waiting to be stitched.

Inspired by classic fairy tales and cozy autumn nights, this design centers around a wise, feathered story lover perched atop a stack of spellbinding books, accompanied by a tiny green friend hiding away in a clever secret compartment.

Designed for Intermediate Crocheters

The pattern mostly uses standard crochet stitches, but the innovative shaping of the final piece, moving elements, and hidden surprises in some of the elements make it an intermediate level project.


Participants can practise the following stitches/techniques in preparation for the CAL: working in the round, working in rows, working around both sides of a starting chain, working in back & front loops only, colorwork, intarsia, surface crochet.

@airali_gray & @irenestrange are the creative duo behind Amigurumi Adventures. Known for their whimsical designs and ingenious construction, Ilaria and Irene are teaming up once again to push the boundaries of what crochet can do.
