For the Diamond Dreams cushion, the overlay mosaic technique is used. In this technique, you crochet each round with a different color. To create the mosaic pattern, you make double crochets into the front loops of stitches from previous rounds. Because these stitches lie on top of your work, this method is called overlay crochet.

The cushion is worked in the round, which makes it easy to change colors every round and prevents you from ending up with lots of ends to weave in. How to do this is explained step by step with photos. Choose two colors with good contrast so the pattern stands out beautifully.
